How to cancel or pause
Three options
You have three ways to step away from a Wealth Recon subscription: pause, cancel, or downgrade. Each has different consequences for your access, your credits, and your edit history.
Pause
Pause stops the next billing cycle but preserves your account. On paused state:
- No new credits grant on the next renewal date.
- Existing credits remain spendable through their natural expiration.
- Account, history, edits, and dossier archive remain accessible.
- The Stripe Customer Portal handles the pause; you do not need to email Bryce.
Pause is the right path if you expect to return within a few months. Resuming the subscription is one click in the Stripe Customer Portal; the next billing cycle starts on the renewal date you select.
Cancel
Cancel ends the subscription on the next billing cycle boundary. The plan does not renew. After the cycle ends:
- Existing credits remain spendable through the cycle's end date.
- The 12-month archive window begins; your account, your dossier list, your inline edits, and your advisor profile remain accessible read-only during the window.
- After the 12-month archive window, account records and dossier artifacts delete per the Privacy Policy data-retention rules.
Cancel is the right path if you do not expect to return. The Stripe Customer Portal handles the cancellation flow.
You can re-subscribe at any time during or after the archive window through the apex marketing signup form. Re-subscribing during the archive window restores access to your prior dossier list, your edit history, and your advisor profile. Re-subscribing after the archive window starts a fresh account.
Downgrade
Downgrade moves you to a less-expensive plan at the next billing cycle boundary. The current plan remains in force through the end of the current cycle; the new plan starts on renewal day.
The system does not refund unused credits at downgrade time; you continue on the current tier through the end of the cycle, then the new tier kicks in. This rule prevents customers from consuming a Professional allocation, downgrading to Solo, and refunding the difference.
Downgrade is the right path if your usage pattern has stabilized at a lower volume than the current plan supports. The Stripe Customer Portal handles the downgrade.
What happens to your dossier archive
Across all three paths, your dossiers stay yours. The styled Portable Document Format and Comma-Separated Values exports you have already downloaded remain on your device. The in-app reader access depends on the path:
- Pause: access continues unchanged.
- Cancel: access continues read-only through the 12-month archive window.
- Downgrade: access continues unchanged on the new tier.
If you want a final export of your tenant's data before canceling, the Account page has a Download tenant data button that triggers an automated export. The export delivers within one business day to your account email.
What happens to your edits and the Master Person Index
Inline edits you made during your subscription period are preserved in the audit log indefinitely. Your edits also continue to inform the Master Person Index in aggregated anonymized form per the Terms of Service; canceling your subscription does not retract your prior contributions to the index.
If you want your edits removed from the audit log entirely, file an access-and-deletion request through the privacy form at https://wealthrecon.com/privacy. The Privacy Policy explains the deletion mechanic.
How to start the process
[CTA: Open the Stripe Customer Portal]
The portal lives at https://billing.stripe.com/p/login/... (your account email is the magic-link destination). Pause, cancel, and downgrade are all available through the portal. No email to Bryce required.
If you have a question about which path is right for your situation, write to support@wealthrecon.com. Bryce will read it during V2 friends-phase.
